Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It spends its time pouncing on insects.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Forestlurker would ordinarily stick out like a sore thumb in the underbrush of the forest, but it has developed an ingenious tactic to hunt its most favored meal, shiny beetles. First, it will roll around in mud to conceal its white coat. Then, it collects leaves and sticks them on its muddy body to appear as though it is simply a bush. When it finds its intended prey, it will slow its breathing and crouch on its belly until it is ready to strike.
