Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When visiting one of the towns near his cave, Gorgon will arrive at dawn and stand around the city center, community hall, or other "central" area. All day he remains, looking wise and waiting for a human to talk to him so he can assign a quest, which often involves fetching something nearby. The younger ones enjoy doing quests and bask in Gorgon's happy glow when they complete one. Several parents who have children who hate doing their chores conspire with Gorgon to assign quests such as "sweep the living room" and "walk the sheep back to their pen". Most catch onto their parents' ruse, but if Gorgon asks them to do something, they're happy to do it.
