Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Ominousness is a contender for the title of Worst Mail Carrier. She got the job simply by finding a town's courier office and demanding to be hired. None of the terrified humans could say no or asked why she wanted to deliver mail. Many parcels are damaged or completely destroyed by fire, weather, and terrain, though she never owns up to it. She is incapable of crossing the river that separates some major towns and has a habit of just throwing the mail trunk over it. There are rumors that she has eaten a number of recipients, too. Rather than deal with Ominousness directly, many people have learned to send their messages on her days off or use dummy post that is safe to destroy. Sometimes, she's assigned to a hard-to-find location across Galsreim, which keeps her busy for at least a few weeks. While she's away, workers move the operation to a different part of town, which Ominousness eventually finds again. Luckily, she is not wise to any of this and unconcernedly continues working.
