Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Impressment is one of the younger members of a group of dragons hired by the Angeln Land's, hmm, opportunistic humans to "impress" people. The dragons don't make themselves memorable or create a strong effect on someone's feelings, though that may be a side effect of their job. Rather, they capture foreign humans and put them into servitude, often in the Angeln military. Impressment's tactic is to spring onto small vessels and drag a human into the water before anyone else onboard can react.
