Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It keeps trying to give you pieces of its nesting material as a gift.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Miss Porter is a pleasant dragon, very similar to her mother, Mrs. Porter. She is innocent, though, having been sheltered from the more unpleasant side of her mother's less upstanding guests. She has yet to figure out that she shouldn't trust just any dragon she meets, but fortunately many dragons who knew her mother want to protect her—especially from Sweeney, who is suspected without evidence of having killed her mother. She has been working part-time at Cvunhu's beauty salon, waiting for her mother to come back from vacation, clinging to the fact that Mrs. Porter's death was never actually confirmed.
