Melismor Dragons are social, good-natured dragons that enjoy the shelter of forested areas. They live in close-knit family groups, burrowing deep into the earth and creating extensive, winding networks of underground burrows. While rarely seen at the surface, Melismor Dragons, when encountered, are known to be fiercely loyal and protective, yet kind when their families aren’t in any danger. These dragons are omnivorous, but most of their diet consists of plants, especially tender roots, and honey is a favored treat they’ll often bring back to their burrows to share.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

To some, Chilaquiles is secretive, shifty, and suspicious; to others, just a dragon who values privacy. In the Motley Forest's southwest district where most of the Earth-leaning individuals reside, the young melismor is understood to be shy and maybe a scaredy-cat, but not unfriendly. The community has a large henhouse in the birch-lined commons where a lot of governmental meetings take place. Chilaquiles is the only dragon who can freely take eggs from the chickens (without adhering to the weekly limit that others have to obey) and makes some mean egg-and-veggie dishes that even the carnivores of the district would happily line up for.
