Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Spacefaring is the guide to the Shiliu range, or, rather, he's so favored by foreigners (and locals who need extra help) that other guides can't hold a candle to him. He knows five languages, can see in the dark, always advocates for safe and peaceful options, and could probably walk every one of the mountain range's 256 paths with his eyes closed. Whenever miners and prospector types hire Spacefaring for guidance, they're usually annoyed how he goes on about respecting nature. He considers the holes and mines they make wounds to the land, which need to be healed afterward, and he'll stop to do that healing with or without their involvement (but it goes faster if they help him). They would tell him he needs to stop talking about rocks and dirt so reverently and find a mate, but then he might quit being a guide, and most folks coming to Shiliu looking for riches know they couldn't last long without him.
