Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A traveler from the Great Dune Sea of the Far South, Sirion's arrival to the doors of the Durelen Clan was a fortunate coincidence. As a hatchling, his elders often told tales of the green lands far beyond the borders of their territory, where water fell from the sky and gathered on the surface, never to dry out. Fascinated by such stories, the young dragon decided to see these wonders with his own eyes. He spent many years traveling, exchanging his tales of adventure for food and shelter with the dragons he met along the way. When he first arrived to the Clan, he never planned on staying very long, but all that changed when he caught sight of a young Bright-Breasted Wyvern, whose own colorful wings were unlike anything he's seen before. The beautiful wyvern, Yavanna, eventually became his mate and despite his proclamations of how much he misses his traveling days, none of his dragon comrades believe he will ever truly leave.
