Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sea is far better liked in the clan than his father. He's sociable and friendly, and much less aloof. He still knows he holds an important place in the clan, but doesn't go out of his way to flaunt it. He tends to be the connection between the clan and his father, since no one wants to suffer through talking to Icarus (giving him a chance to boast) and prefer to go through Sea instead.
