Sapphire Dragons were so named for their brilliant blue-green color, which is reminiscent of the gemstone. This breed was historically hunted for their scales; even long after, they remain distrustful of humans. Normally a Sapphire is not very aggressive, but they will defend themselves vigorously if under attack. Their diet consists mainly of fruit, with smaller portions of large insects and other invertebrates. Males woo females with vocalizations similar to bird songs. Sapphire Dragons are very loyal to their mates, and it is not unusual that they pair for life.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Scholasticism's parents named her such because they wanted a child who was smart and held traditional values. She didn't turn out that way, not least because she never understood what a traditional value was. The term sounds like it's related to money, which she's not interested in. She leaves Mistletoe Mikeopolis for a week or seven, with only a bum bag of salt and mana and her bow and arrows, and she returns with a new hat for the collection, more arrows than she started with, a "hangover tonic" for her hubby, and a cartload of red meat and poultry. Everyone in the neighborhood is impressed with Scholasticism's archery skills and resourcefulness, and lots of hatchlings want to be like her. The carts are not hers, and people used to worry about whether the owners will come looking. Each time, at some point when everyone's back was turned, the cart would disappear, and Scholasticism would announce that it has "departed for its rightful owner", and no trouble has come from that.
