Rift Wyrms are dragons adapted to both the frigid depths of the sea and the void that exists in the space between spaces. They have the ability to rip holes in the fabric of space that lead into and out of the void, and can manipulate the size and location of these rifts with additional effort. Their bodies give off an unsettling chill, while their mouths tend to glow from the mana they’ve consumed. Between their appearance and their method of travel, Rift Wyrms have a reputation as eldritch creatures that do not belong in this world. They tend to have a mischievous streak facilitated by their abilities. This ranges by individual from harmless japery to active malevolence, and many people and dragons are wary of them. Despite their reputation as tricksters, these wyrms are curious and may choose to help others on a whim just as often as they decide to harm.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Playful and full of angst, Distortion loves picking on others, particularly if they have no way of fighting back. Distortion has a power complex. Physically, she is completely pathetic. Not only is she one of the smallest dragons in her family, but she's also very weak. She is, however, a skilled astral jumper, able to dip in and out of reality on a whim and quickly at that. She'll use this skill to prank, bully, and demean others, evading any of their retaliations by simply zipping out of range. Distortion typically goes after those who lack confidence or self-esteem, those she can more easily put down and manipulate. She is not actually violent, as previously mentioned, she is a pathetic physical brawler. She does, however, have a sly wyrm tongue and has a knack for getting into others' heads. She messes with minds, makes others believe they are worthless or weak, the same way she does. It's her way of feeling powerful and on top of things, by making others feel low.
