Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Pitch, like her red cousin, Rosso Corsa, has a very regal bearing to her and comes off as majestic, mysterious, and untouchable. She is Rosso's antithesis. While Rosso is open and gaudy, Pitch is closed off and quiet. Rosso is constantly surrounding by colorful insects, Pitch only comes out at night to feed. Rosso has an ego to her, Pitch doesn't seem to care at all how she's perceived. The list goes on, but the point is these two are about as far apart from each other as they can get, and it results in a pretty fierce rivalry. Rosso is no stranger to rivalries (she often competes with her siblings over who is most beautiful), but her fights with Pitch are especially fierce. If there's one thing Pitch is about, it's making fools of others. She engages Rosso in her egotistical rivalry only to make her look like an idiot. She blares how shallow she is and how dumb it is to challenge someone over beauty. But, of course, Pitch is partially lying to herself and really does get into it.
