Pitfire Dragons are an infernal breed, reveling in the suffering and misery of others. These dragons are not known to be strong magic users, nor are they capable of flight. However, these weaknesses are made up for in the extent of their physical prowess. They have little respect for most other creatures, including members of their own family group; however, those that have fought or fallen in battle against formidable foes are highly revered. They are constantly on the move, always on the hunt for food or a skirmish. The malevolent nature of Pitfires is feared by many, and the damage they leave in their wake is a sure sign for those to be wary. Pitfire activity has been noted to increase as the weather grows colder and the nights grow longer.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pantheon of Discord lives in the mostly grassy, funny-shaped place whose name he can't remember. He invited himself there, and the owner allowed him to trespass and squat, probably because getting him to leave would be a difficult undertaking. His home is a pile of rubble with an extra-large slab on one side, which he built a short distance from the dogleg of hole 11. Pantheon is a clearly marked hazard in the area, and only the very stealthy, cunning, or foolish try to retrieve their mislaid balls while he is awake. Fortunately, he has a predictable sleeping schedule and is a deep sleeper, and even at his most active, (unbeknownst to him) he doesn't feel a strong need to assert dominance or kill everyone he encounters due to the nearby candelabra who keeps the area awash with his peace spell.
