Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Draper Point bathes in the same hot pool at the same time of day every day, and she has done so for the last six decades or so. She lies meditatively, waiting like a hermit for a traveler to travel up the volcano to ask a Big Question, which she will answer in a wise and philosophical manner. Unfortunately, she's only had three different visitors during that time, two of which were her mother (who thought she was lonely) and her hubby (who occasionally flew in to loiter and have a romp). People either don't know Draper Point's there, don't care to visit, or were killed by predators or by the heat on their way. She forgets about the whole "convection" thing sometimes, but she doesn't want to find a different spot because the pool is very comfortable, and wise gurus have to live in remote locations so reaching them presents a challenge. Why Draper Point has chosen this lifestyle is unknown.
