Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. His name means "Ruddy Shelduck" in Japanese. He is the son of Norio and Eri, and was raised alongside his sister Takara-Yamori. He is a very calm and tranquil dragon, and enjoys nothing more than resting under a shaded tree with his mate after a nice hunt. His favorite food is beetles, particularly Rhinoceros and Tiger Beetles. Not only are they tasty, but they are also slow moving, so he doesn't have to work too hard while hunting. This is in complete contrast to his mate, Ashinaga-Shigi, who is very energetic and loves chasing her prey down before she pounces. They met when she tripped over him while he was resting. It was night time, and she'd been chasing down a particularly energetic moth, and hadn't been looking down. After she apologized, she offered to make it up to him, and take him out on a date. He loved her energetic spirit while she enjoyed his easy going ways. They quickly fell in love. They became mates on a clear winter night. They love each other, and always will.
