Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

This dragon was an interesting find for Kaini. She was working on some names and descriptions late one night, when a cat yowled outside. The cat must have been very scared of something, for it was found the next day clinging to the side of the house for dear life. Right after this frightened yowl, a knock on the door forced the dragon tamer to abandon her work and open the door. A little cheese hatchie rushed in, and hid under her desk. The next thing the tamer saw before she slammed the door in alarm were thousands of tiny red eyes rushing towards her. These were rats, after the rare cheese. The rats had been ready to chow down on their latest food find, but before they could some dreadful wizard turned it into a live dragon, which got up and ran away. The army of rats invaded the little study where the tamer had been working, but she managed to escape to her cave before they got the cheese hatchie. Ever since she has had rat problems, but that didn't stop her from keeping the cheese.
