Welcome to Dragon Cave! Dragon Cave is an online adoptables game. Collect eggs, raise them to adulthood, and then breed them to create interesting lineages. New dragons are added regularly!
Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
After he was gifted a bag of books as a hatchling by a stranger, Lexicology decided that when he was grown, he'd study words. He would even find a community of humans to live with if that meant better access to documents and communication avenues with others studying the same thing, which is what he did. He meant for it to be a hobby, but he soon found a job compiling dictionaries at the Heimsath Institution, where he has no specialty but always finds himself fielding all the dragon-related questions by colleagues. Because his name is nearly unpronounceable for humans, people call him by his field of study, Lexicology. His hobbies include learning fire magic and playing his triple-bell hornpipe, and though his neighbors are on their toes, his colleagues are glad he doesn't practice either in the office.
