Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pillow Lover, as she likes to be called, is one of the few female Swallowtails in a group of male and female Swallowtails. She's a whimsical and bubbly dragon, hyper every hour of every day. Some dragons feel that she is too obnoxious, but her mate, Spoiled Shiny, loves how jumpy she is. Pillow Lover enjoys the times when he takes a break from guarding the group's cave entrance, since then she can dance around him and act out her whole day without any interruptions.

Pillow Lover's name came from the fact that she loves pillows, be they the dragon or the human device. Her bed is filled with stolen pillows, and she sneaks out to play with Pillow Dragons at night. While it is possible that she is cheating on Spoiled Shiny, the male Swallowtail has already been told by Pillow Lover herself about her other friends and the eggs that they abandon constantly.

Pillow Lover pities the non-mated Swallowtail males who hang around outside of the group, but has no thoughts about helping them.
