Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This Announcer stands outside the entrance to the Glass Citadel, which serves as the headquarters of her Clan's Desert March. She tends to be rather quiet and reserved and is simply there to do her job (which she is actually quite content with). Passersby are often surprised by this hatchling suddenly asking if there's anything she can do to help, as she's usually so silent and still that most don't notice her at first, and the idea that maybe she should change this habit just doesn't occur to her.

She is a good friend of the leader of the March, the Desert Marquess Azules, who will often give her a snack or a gift when passing by. She sleeps in a small cushion in Azules' den and the Marquess probably knows the shy hatchling better than anyone else. During particularly hot summer days, she is given a cowl or blanket with which to stay protected from the sun.
