Arcana Dragons are a rarely-encountered breed of dragon known for both their magical abilities, and their quirky, hardworking nature. These dragons have specialized organs for storing mana, and can produce varying effects from these reserves simply through instinct. However, they are also very intelligent dragons, and when raised around mages, or others of their own kind, almost invariably become obsessed with the study of magic. Arcanae are diligent in their efforts to discover as many uses for magic as possible, and while they will openly treat others to the fruits of their labor—especially others who share their interests—they will also use their knowledge and abilities to trick any creature that thinks it can take advantage of them.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rum Revelations is a spell-scholar and occasional soil consultant in her forest home of many names, and while sharp and highly curious, she sometimes does things without thinking, and problems related to her past actions arise after a few years. Her office is in a tree. She likes perching in trees and hopping from branch to branch so much that she turned down a chance to live in a house or a castle. The tree even has an address (1 Redbark Tree, South-Pointing Branches, Tate's Forest 5SW-2, Galsreim), unlike other trees in this forest. Rum Revelations repeatedly petitioned for an address until the council was tired of dealing with the correspondence and made one up for her, and they scolded her for many months via notices and in-person visits, saying that's not how things work around here and that there's likely going to be problems in the future regarding land boundaries and ownership. But for now, she gets to have a tree with an address.
