Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mad Dance is a male Vampire dragon. He is considered by other dragons to be a 'normal' vampire dragon, a cruel, vicious member of the undead. He's well respected by the other vampires, and is obedient and loyal towards Outlaw of the Darkness, the leader of a gang vampire dragons of which Mad Dance is a member. However, Mad Dance has a secret passion for dancing.

A small cave in "The Dragon's Teeth" mountain range is what Mad Dance calls home. Sleeping during the day, his nights are often taken up with looting, threatening and vandalising, all in the name of Outlaw's gang. Mad Dance's free nights are occupied by one thing, dancing. Watched by nobody but the moon, Mad Dance executes complex moves with grace and agility that could make a ballerina jealous. Dancing is the only way that he feels that he express himself.

However, when the sun goes down again, Mad Dance puts on an act once more, unable to express his greatest passion in a harsh, stereotyping world.
