Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Blitzen has never found movement throughout the clans easy, and in fact, he wonders how everyone else can do it so simply. When Blitzen sees an obstacle, the only options he can see are to climb over it or attempt to dig under it, but for some reason the other dragons have this strange concept of "going around it." Blitzen cannot comprehend how they can go around it, as the only directions he can see are side to side, or up and down, yet other dragons appear to be able to travel in extra directions called "front and back", yet Blitzen is unable to comprehend these. He always finds it incredibly creepy how a dragon can see him, yet he cannot see anything which is not in a straight line either vertically or horizontally from him. He is also frequently criticized for getting his wings and tail in other dragon's way, but Blitzen cannot see how he is doing this  after all, he is a flat figure. So as Blitzen shuffles, crablike along, he puzzles about how other dragons must see the world.
