And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Pistachio was named after his father. He is one of the two non-Guardian members of Galadriel's clan (the other one being his father). His parents left each other soon after Pistachio was born, and he spends more time with his mother, training along with the Guardians of the clan. He hides his feelings-especially his weaknesses and hurts-from others and he very rarely speaks openly about himself. Most of the time, he acts strong to protect himself from the outside world. Since he was the only son that his mother permitted to stay on the scroll, he is especially tough in front of his mother in fear of being kicked out like his brothers. However his favorite pastimes are reading, writing and reciting poetry, not physical exercise. He longs for the day he can tell his mother about who he really is, but in the meantime he satisfies his literature-needs by secretly visiting his father.
