Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Galadriel is the third eldest dragon on the scroll. She is the leader of the Guardians, and all the members of the clan use her name as their cognomen in her honor. Most of the time, she is very quiet and calm; she values reason above all else and is very reluctant to attack unless she is sure of the situation. However if the dragon under her protection is in danger she will fight back with all her heart, though she prefers blocking attacks with her tail. When she doesn't have a dragon to guard, she spends hours training the hatchlings and caring for the other Guardians. On clear nights, she sits under the stars praying for all the dragons she harmed no matter how much they had wanted to kill her during their fight. She once had a lover but she left him to found the clan of the Guardians. Although they haven't shared a single word since, he is under her protection and is an honorary member of the clan.
