Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Gerascophobia, known as Geri for short, is the second child of her clan's unluckiest dragon: Paraskavedekatriaphobia. His tales about his life caused her to become afraid of growing up because she doesn't want to grow up and end up being unlucky too. Instead, she drank a potion to stay young forever, and this made Geri much happier with life. She loves spending time playing with the hatchlings and pretending they are her younger siblings. Sometimes she feels sad when they grow up and become adults without her, and sometimes she even wishes she too could have children of her own. However, a new nest of hatchlings always seems to come around to play with her, making her forget any regrets she had for choosing to stay young forever. Overall, Geri is happy with her life, especially now that she no longer has to fear growing up and can now stay a child in spirit and in body.
