Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Holleodon's home is called Pyrovar Springs, which includes a series of travertine terraces. He enjoys hopping from step to step, but he isn't allowed to any more after that one time he kicked off too hard and caused a collapse. His friends and neighbors always say he's loyal and well-meaning but never able to gauge his strength, so a lot of things end up broken if he's left with them unsupervised. Holleodon lived at a salt lake when he was a hatchling, but his parents didn't like how he routinely escaped the cave to drink the salty water. Fearing their son would get a disease from consuming too much salt, they moved. Though the hot springs are nice, he would like to one day revisit the lake. He's an adult now. He should be able to make his own decisions.
