Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rizic is one of the Water Hands serving the noble family Fleck in the kingdom of Crule. The Flecks are a family of nobles, though not "noble" in the sense of "splendid", "honorable", or "eminent". Of course, he keeps such opinions to himself because he doesn't want to cause trouble and definitely doesn't want to be punished. Sometimes, family members seem to punish Water Hands for no reason, or some reason that eludes Rizic. They do a lot of things that he doesn't understand, such as fight for the throne of Crule. Sometimes, they get really hurt trying to take that throne from the ruler, and Rizic is mystified why they would want to when the ruler of Crule is currently doing a decent job... a better job than any one of the Flecks could. Of course, he keeps that opinion to himself and always gives as neutral a response as he could whenever the family tells him about how they deserve the throne and will keep vying for it.
