It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Ciarra has always had an intense interest in magic. She often stalks the magi dragons asking them all kinds of questions. They only get her to stop by directing her to some of their books. Ciara will pour herself into studying magic though she is saddened by her lack of talent for it. One day while reading a book for the like ninth or tenth time she heard an explosion. Turned out the source of the explosion was the experiments of a rather quirky male purple dragon. Ciara was intrigued by the the male purple as he was the first to be seen in the clan and also by his work. She soon fell in love with the male purple and became his assistant that helps keep his magical experiments safer.
