Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Chibi no Akatsuki or Chibi-kun as he's usually called is a humourous dragon, he loves to float around the cave or bouncing over the cave walls. As he was born prematurely, he finds himself unable to reach the mature or adult stage, a fact that he finds pretty insignificant. Thankfully, none of the other dragons think any less of him because of his anomaly.
