Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It always seems to be picking over its scales.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Other than his unusual name, this dragon appears to be a normal young lumina. His biological parents were gone before he hatched, so he's being cared for by a bleeding moon and balloon couple who do odd things "to see how things will go". Izzy, as he's nicknamed, has eaten more than a hundred different foods and moved around with his quirky parents to a great variety of environments. They would switch "parenting styles" once a month when he was younger. They've nearly died in some of their more dangerous adventures. The only way Izzy ever described all the different goings-on was "it was okay". Some dragons thought he'd revolt or be bullied or get overwhelmed or something, but he just has a perpetual shrug about everything. Maybe Izzy is so calm and boring that nothing can faze him.
