Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Palmari has soft, sparkly, golden skin and although he is not a true Gold dragon, from a distance he surely resembles one. No one would believe the number of times Palmari has been mistaken for a true Gold dragon and captured by hunters who wanted to turn his skin into armor. Thankfully, he always escapes. One day he was roaming around the pine forest in which he lives in, and an adventurous human named Heatheat found him. Heatheat returned to these fields daily, putting food out for Palmari until he finally gained her trust. Now, Palmari lives in Heatheat's house like a pet, often flying away to visit the wilderness he came from for months at a time.
