Rift Wyrms are dragons adapted to both the frigid depths of the sea and the void that exists in the space between spaces. They have the ability to rip holes in the fabric of space that lead into and out of the void, and can manipulate the size and location of these rifts with additional effort. Their bodies give off an unsettling chill, while their mouths tend to glow from the mana they’ve consumed. Between their appearance and their method of travel, Rift Wyrms have a reputation as eldritch creatures that do not belong in this world. They tend to have a mischievous streak facilitated by their abilities. This ranges by individual from harmless japery to active malevolence, and many people and dragons are wary of them. Despite their reputation as tricksters, these wyrms are curious and may choose to help others on a whim just as often as they decide to harm.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In Twist's mind, there is nothing more important than good humor. Whether it be a clever prank, hilarious story, comedy of errors, or just a simple joke, if it's funny, Twist will laugh. He enjoys playing harmless, though often mind-bending mischief on others. These pranks usually revolve around making the victim feel like they're losing their senses or like reality itself has gone screwy. One of his favorite moves is to steal somebody's socks, but only one from each pair. Or, he'll repeatedly open a closed door the owner swears they left shut. Jump scares are another favorite prank. Twist is a master of loud, unexpected entrances. He practically turns it into a show, often creeping up on others or even using magic to make areas feel haunted before he jumps out of a portal and surprises his victim. Although these antics are frequent and irritating, they are all for the sole intent of fun. Twist's japery is neither violent nor malevolent, unlike the more harmful tricks of his siblings.
