Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Yuukihyakubai (Bai-bai to her friends, Yuuki to her parents) is a leader among the hatchlings attending her mother's daycare. She inherited all of Jikun's energy and excitement, and unfortunately missed out on her father's caution. Bai-bai constantly convinces the other hatchlings to go on adventures with her, and while they often find trouble, they always find a lot of fun, too. If one of her friends is down in the dumps, Bai-bai won't let them stay that way, taking it upon herself to cheer her buddies up. Sometimes her efforts are annoying, but she's become skilled at distracting others from their misery and getting them to laugh.
