Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Hecht is a former umpire in the sport of Hit the Ball and Run in a Big Square. Likely due to his nebula heritage, he had an excellent eye for tracking the ball and player movements. For many years, he would "go roamin' " from place to place, calling games for anyone in the league who needed an umpire. He was highly respected for his honesty and hardheadedness; even when people disliked a call, they never doubted Hecht's judgment. 50 years ago, the Hit the Ball and Run in a Big Square Association overhauled the league, requiring humans and dragons to be separated, citing fairness. Sensing a new age in the beautiful game, Hecht retired. He and his wife have stopped roamin' the land and remain in the same cave to this day, refusing most interviews. Still, his time as an umpire hasn't been forgotten. Historians and biographers have chronicled his fame and subsequent obscurity, the rise and fall of the roamin' umpire.
