Galvanic Wyverns possess a strength that seems impossibly vast for their size. They achieve this through their unique ability to extract magic in its purest form directly from mana. They then channel this energy throughout their bodies via the metallic conduits along their spines, wings, and tail tips, giving them their magically-augmented physical prowess, as well as the magical dexterity to lay devastating spells. However, once they have depleted a mana crystal, they are left vulnerable until they are able to harvest another.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zolt is the youngest in a brood of Galvanics and Royal Crimsons, some of them possessing strength impressive even for their breeds. As such, Zolt often feels pretty obscured, especially since he falls in the average category among them. His father, Strength, has claimed a mana spring full of crystals for them and the rest of their vast family to share, but these resources have to be rationed. Because of this, only the strongest and most capable magic users are given free access, and, since Zolt is anything but exceptional, he is very often left without a mana crystal. Not that he is very proficient with them anyway. He's a clumsy spell user and often ends up destroying more property than anything whenever he tries training with a crystal. Because of all of this, Zolt is more reclusive for a Galvanic. He lacks the raw confidence of his older siblings and ends up isolating himself so he doesn't get in their way. Sometimes, he considers leaving his family like his sister, Blast, did.
