Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Racing is more aggressive for a Horse, especially when compared to his siblings, Foal and Burgoo. Having grown up around a bunch of Hellfires, Racing has adapted to fight back a little. He's generally pretty quiet and brooding, but very defensive around new dragons. If he feels threatened in any way, Racing will rear up and deliver a precise kick to whoever he is upset with. It's only the one kick, though, then Racing will dash away. He is a very impressive runner, definitely the fastest in the family aside from his sister, Mare the Hellhorse. Racing is most afraid of Mare, and the fact that she is a superior runner gives him great anxiety. For this reason, whenever dealing with her, Racing will always cower and hide. In fact, this is his response to any dragon he deems this level of threatening. Because he is so skittish towards others, it's difficult for him to make friends. Any dragons he is close with he doesn't really treat the best. He's often irritable, snide, and unpleasant.
