Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Previously declined to be acquaintances with a group of fellow "popular" dragons in his clan, Midnight prefers to stay alone and bask outside, listening to the silent chirps of the nearby crickets. Unlike the others, Midnight lurks in the darkness, becoming a silent trickster who fiercely hisses at the target, causing them to be absolutely terrified. Midnight has hardly been heard laughing before, or talking. He was spotted talking to the moon up in the night sky, but months later the dragon that heard that was killed. Later, Midnight can be seen practicing his stalking, fighting, and hunting skills in the middle of a cave that he claimed himself, and gets angry if he sees anything he thinks is mysterious disturbing him, so he fiercely shoots himself into the target and claws at it, until he figures out what it really is. He is often respected by his fellow dragons, and he does enjoy his time in his clan.
