Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zah uses primarily spells in her battles, her favorites being the ones that drain or affect the energy of her opponent. Ever since she hatched she has shown a knack for energy manipulation, and that is why her parents named her Zah, as it is a term for the life energy of others. Zah's signature move is as follows: she lures an opponent into the air, and when she is ready, she slams into them and performs a spell that transfers their energy to her. At this point, her opponent falls from the sky and slams into the ground, exhausted. When the dragon falls, there is always a chance that Zah will be knocked out of the air and defeated, so she calls that move her 'kamikaze' attack.
