Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Darquin, a black dragon, is valued in the tribe for her ability to remember wherever she has traveled. She somehow maps everything out in her head, and has never gotten lost, even when she was a hatchling. If you defeat her in a spar or barter with her for something she deems acceptable, she will draw out a map for you. She usually only does this for dragons, though other species are welcome to try. Darquin loves cool, damp, and dark places, and loves water-filled caves. She often tells wonderful stories of finding bizarre creatures or out of this world sights to the hatchlings, though none really believe her. She insists that they are true however. Darquin's favorite adventure is the wondrous cave deep in the earth with the glow in the dark spiders and giant crystal formations. She is currently trying to find another adventurous dragon to come with her on her expeditions so she will have proof that she is telling the truth.
