Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Schimpfen is antsy, irritable, prone to shouting fits, and strangely loyal. She is pocked with scars and the remnants of some disease, and her scales feel rough and cracked, like desiccated ground. Her gait is awkward, like she just learned to walk minutes ago but is determined to get somewhere quickly nonetheless. The swaying and stumbling motion does not hinder her ability in combat; sometimes, it greatly helps her, when her foes are disoriented by the movements and unable to concentrate. Once Schimpfen finds attachment with someone or something, she will argue for and fight viciously to defend it. Her favorite color is cordovan, a hue that, she says, governs the universe. And is a good color for shoes and shoulder-guards.
