When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Specula is a crafty dragon who loves riddles and playing mind games with others. She can twist someone up so badly that they can't tell up from down, or friend from foe, making her a good dragon to have on your side. She almost always speaks in riddles, making her very hard to understand, even at the best of times, though the other dragons eventually figured out how to more or less understand her odd, eccentric ways.<br/>She's not spiteful or cruel, her mind games are just her way of having fun, and she enjoys doing it. She's less nasty toward those she gets along with, however.<br/>She plans to one day head out into the oceans and travel all around the world, maybe stopping in to visit her friends every once in a while. <br/>She enjoys diving underwater and then popping up suddenly to scare the living daylights out of the other dragons. She also enjoys music and fine things like gold, silver, and precious gems. She's especially fond of the color blue.
