As winter ends, Thousand Wish Dragons emerge from the deep depths of the oceans to head towards the extensive forests and fields of Valkemare, where new life has begun to sprout. The rain they bring forth is rich with Life mana, growing flora and healing ailments, while their lightning strikes down intruders, reducing them to ash for the soil. This develops verdant environments—with flowing raw mana reserves and flourishing inhabitants—in which they may feed and live in comfort. Their life-giving rain and protective lightning have led to worship in many agricultural villages, where they tie colorful strips of fabric to their oldest trees to send up their respect and wishes to their draconic deity. Though not possessing true divine powers, Thousand Wish Dragons do their best to look after the people who trust them during their stay, until the time to return to the ocean arrives when the harvest ends and the branches grow bare.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
People like Ploughshare because he's a calming presence and protects their food sources and livelihoods, though they like him slightly less whenever he's trying to get them to read his work. He's an aspiring writer, and every land season, he takes as much opportunity as he can to share his stories with his humans. He hopes to get the stories published, turned into plays, and spread around. The villagers wear a variety of expressions whenever they read a piece, and for the shorter stories, he stands over them the entire time, waiting for their opinions. People have nothing but good things to say to their dear Ploughshare, so he must be a pretty good writer. Unfortunately, it appears that no one outside this region agrees. No matter how many people go out to pass around his works and sing their praises, that has yet to open any opportunities for him. On the rare occasions he travels out of the village himself, it seems like few people know about any of his tales, which seems odd.
