Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The daughter of the White Striped dragon Bontine and the Bright-Breasted Wyvern, Norys of the Smallest Blessings, Honna was raised by the human girl named Flight in a large cave on the edge of the Lake of Elgar, which is roughly in the middle in the Mountains of Elgar. Having previously raised Honna's parents, Flight took on the responsibility of caring for the green hatchling, especially when Honna's mother left the Mountains of Elgar. Like her mother and father both, Honna is a kindhearted dragon who enjoys seeing others happy. As a hatchling she grew up along side two other dragons, the Waterhorse named Hemimorphite of the Gems, and the Mint dragon named Hylio. Even as a hatchling, and despite her soft personality, Honna was the leader out of the three littermates. To this day, when they are together, she is the one who leads the way around the Mountains of Elgar. Though Hemimorphite has gone her separate way, Honna and Hylio remain close, both living in the forest of Tohrutyr.
