Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Calci arrived in Verdant in bad shape, another victim of the itinerant wizard some now call Dragon's Bane. Like many of his victims, she was young, from a large family that was too busy to properly attend to their eggs. Picked up by the wizard she became a test subject for his potions, and was quickly abandoned when he moved to another community. While Calci was mostly healed at the Verdant infirmary, they cannot undo the wizard's spells until they catch him.

Calci has shown a love of music, and is a student aide at the Mint Garden School, where she met Ossi, another Nocturne victim of the same wizard. The two spend their free time planning ways to catch the wizard, if they ever get the chance. They have a list of his known victims, and are trying to learn everything they can to undo the evil workings, restoring those who have suffered to good health.
