Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It always seems to be picking over its scales.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Crazy found this darling as an egg, abandoned by his mother. His mother was named Ugly by those in her clan, and she did not have the heart to raise her child around them. Shortly after hatching and finding out the story, the little hatchling searched for and found his mother—and found her beautiful. Because of that, he decided to stay forever the hatchling with hatchling dreams. He named himself My Mother is Beautiful, and will hold onto that memory for the rest of eternity.
