Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This is Amina. She has a rare and serious skin condition that caused her to be born without scales. Her skin is rough, pink, and ugly. She is very miserable about the way she looks. The other lumina dragons don't like being around her because she's so ugly. Amina's best friend is a turpentine dragon named Sasha. Amina and Sasha love chatting and joking with each other, but they can't get too close. The oil on Sasha's scales burns Amina's sensitive skin very badly, they can't even touch hands. They manage to keep their distance but be close enough to be able to chat.
