Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lingwyrm is working on developing a writing system designed after her markings. She hasn't finalized it because she wants to assign phonemes to the characters and use a already-existent language but can't pick which spoken language she wants. On top of that, she wants her own scales to spell out something cool and impressive, but she keeps rejecting phases as being too dippy, overzealous, or mundane.

Once she finishes her script, she intends to write a book unlike anyone has ever written before about a citrus fruit with a belly button at sea. Few expect her to ever get around to her novel novel about a navel navel's navel.
