Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
A Song That Only I Can Hear, or Hearsong Draekon, is a Nocturne with an affinity for singing. She and her mate, Lullaby Draekon (Can You Sing Me a Lullaby), are the leaders of the musical dragons in the cave. Their voices, complimenting each other nicely, are no doubt a reason that they lead together. As Nocturnes freeze in position upon the touch of light, she prefers to stay in the cave or in a dark shelter before the sun sets. Still, though, she gets caught outside and is trapped in idle position. When this happens, a dragon in the cave often ends up telling Lullaby if they find him, and the Sunset curls around her form for a nap. While this may make it seem Lullaby is the more protective of the two, it would actually be Hearsong. When any dragon threatens her or those close to her, she is quickly angered and eager to fight, and ferociously. It has earned her a reputation of sorts, so most dragons actually end up being very amiable to her. Luckily for them, she can be friendly, too!
