Perhaps among the most venerated of dragon breeds is the Zyumorph, a breed whose selfless heroism and strong moral compass are nearly unparalleled by other dragons. Zyumorphs have an innate urge to fend off wrongdoing, and as such, are often sought after in times of peril. Although they are independently quite capable fighters, it is said that their true might is not unlocked until all six Zyumorphs are brought together in times of great duress.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Secularize is a senior arbitrator for the Rhode-Tide-Cirioni-in-Absentia Group, and the majority of disputes he handles involve high levels of magic. He's a "senior" because he's had this position longer than the juniors, not because he's very old himself. Separate from the Group, he is also a Guard of the Whiskered Hero's Jewels, one of the few Guards appointed who aren't the Hero's students or descendants. He used to wonder if he was given preferential treatment as a Zyumorph, but it's unlikely since the inhabitants of Rauzcpur aren't really that sort. As part of his job, Secularize perches by the Y-Tree where the Jewels are displayed and explains their significance to curious visitors. Some folks from far-off places have all kinds of reactions to the Whiskered Hero's Jewels that Rauzcpur denizens believe are inappropriate, such as amusement. Secularize is relatively well-traveled and understands that most of it is culture clash, and he tries to explain to his community when he can.
