It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A distressed female cry rang out across the lake as Cerulean Speed Stipe tried to escape from her pursuer. Brighty of the Twilit Canyon, outraged, battled the immense purple male dragon for the right to her brood, but he was overcome by the larger dragon. A single egg, born to perpetuate his species, was then born of Cerulean and Granddad Whiskers.

Amethyst Majesty was raised by her father, named by her father, brainwashed by her father. She vaguely knew her mother, and tries to speak with her, but the Water horse dragon wishes nothing to do with her and spends even more time under the ripples of the lake, hiding from the aggressive males, even Brighty. Amethyst has, as a result, turned her back on all males, choosing instead to roost with another confused bred dragon, Sky Oceans.
